Duqm Refinery and Information Technology Authority (ITA) celebrated the graduation of 200 participants of an IT training program, supported by Duqm Refinery in co-operation with the ITA and in collaboration with a number of Omani Women Association in Al Wusta region, the ceremony took place under the auspices of HE. Sheikh Meadhad bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Yaqoubi, Governor of the Al Wusta Governorate and in the presence of officials from Government and private sectors. Duqm Refinery’s Corporate Affairs General Manager Nas-ha Al Fallahi said, “We are proud to support initiatives which we believe will contribute positively towards the development of the local community. Duqm Refinery is aiming towards taking a leading role in the development of the local community through its CSR initiatives, training and development programs as well as supporting SMEs and creating job opportunities.” social responsibility forms part of our contribution to the sustainable development in Oman and our CSR approach is driven by our vision that aims to fuel economic growth in Duqm as well as significantly contribute to Oman’s future prosperity. Omar bin Salim Al Shanfri, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations at ITA: “We are glad to award the women who participated and successfully completed the program. We value this initiative from Duqm refinery as it represents the strategic partnership between private sector and ITA to support the national strategic objectives of e-Oman and e-Government. We hope to see more to come between ITA and Duqm Refinery as well as with other private sector. It is worth mentioning that the training program which is delivered by reputed local IT training centers under the supervision of ITA in collaboration with a number of Omani Women Association in Al Wusta Governorate continued for three weeks. The training program aims at raising digital awareness among individuals of the community and providing the trainees with computer and Internet fundamental skills, in addition to an introduction to governmental services being rendered by the official portal of e-government services.
