Duqm Refinery organised a stakeholder engagement forum in Duqm.

Duqm Refinery organized a stakeholder engagement forum on 27 May 2015 in Duqm under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Mohsin bin Hamed Al Maskari, Wali of Duqm. The forum was attended by over fifty local citizens of Duqm, sheikhs and dignitaries from various governmental and private entities, as well as representatives of Galfar Contracting Co. and senior management of Duqm Refinery. The forum engaged important stakeholders of Duqm Refinery with its upcoming refinery project. Topics included project status, upcoming business opportunities for the local people of Duqm, training and recruitment opportunities, current and future CSR initiatives of Duqm Refinery. The Wali of Duqm, H.E. Mohsin Al Maskary commented: “The Duqm Refinery project will add great value to the economic zone and to the people of Duqm.” He further added “Duqm Refinery’s initiative of engaging local communities in Duqm is highly appreciated, it shows Duqm Refinery’s commitment to keep the local communities informed of the project and its development at every stage.” Project Director of Duqm Refinery, Jacobus Nieuwenhuijze commented: “Through such forums we aim to directly engage with our key stakeholders from the Duqm community; keep them updated on latest developments and at the same time provide a realistic view of the benefits that the local community can receive from the refinery project.”. He further added, “Engaging with the local community and our stakeholders is an integral part of our operational strategy.”
