Duqm Refinery Inks an Mou With ITA to Support It Training Program for 200 Women in Al Wusta Region

Duqm Refinery has signed an agreement with the Information Technology Authority “ITA” to support IT training program for 200 women in Al Wusta region. Omar bin Salim Al Shanfri, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations signed the agreement on behalf of the ITA, and General Manager for Corporate Affairs, Nas-ha Al Fallahi represented Duqm Refinery with the attendance of officials from both parties. It is worth mentioning that the training program which is delivered by reputed local IT training centers under the supervision of ITA in collaboration with a number of Omani Women Association in Al Wusta region will continue for three weeks. The training program aims at raising digital awareness among individuals of the community and providing the trainees with computer and Internet fundamental skills, in addition to an introduction to governmental services being rendered by the official portal of e-government services. The agreement represents the commitment from both sides to better serve the community and the strategic partnership between governmental and private sector in implementing sustainable social projects. It also insists on the CSR values of Duqm Refinery that focuses on empowering local community as well as supporting the sustainable initiatives that serve the community’s needs. Commenting on the Signing, Omar bin Salim Al Shanfri, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations at ITA said: “We are glad to sign the MoU with Duqm Refinery. We value this initiative for Duqm refinery as it represents the strategic partnership between private sector and ITA to support the national strategic objectives of e-Oman and e-Government. We hope to see more to come between ITA and Duqm Refinery as well as with other private sector. On the other side, Nas-ha Al Fallahi, General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Duqm Refinery said, “We are proud to support initiatives which we believe will contribute positively towards the development of the local community. Duqm Refinery is aiming towards taking a leading role in the development of the local community through its CSR initiatives, training and development programs as well as supporting SMEs and creating job opportunities.”
