Supporting outward bound Oman
OQ8 is committed to supporting the development of employability skills for the youth in Duqm.

In 2015, OQ8 supported 90 young students aged 15 – 17 years studying in high schools in Al Wusta region to enhance their employability through Outward Bound Oman courses. The program offers outdoor experiences as part of courses in which young people challenge themselves and raise their self-esteem while realizing their full potential and better prepare themselves for the world of employment. OQ8 working in close partnership with the National Careers Guidance Centre at the Ministry of Education and Outward Bound, giving young people the opportunity to learn lessons that cannot be learned in a classroom and provide exposure to key skills sought by leading employers in Oman. Over the last two years, OQ8 has supported more than 180 students of ages 15 – 17 from Duqm to take part in the program. They learn decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership skills by applying themselves in the outdoor activities that Outward Bound Oman has on offer
