We launched the “Wadha” initiative to be our flagship program to tackle issues around empowering and building the capacity of women in Al Wusta region.

Earlier initiatives were delivered in partnership with the Omani Women Association of Duqm. Two workshops were delivered and attended by 80 women from the local community.

The workshops were in the areas of landscape art and local handicrafts/jewelry design and lasted a week, aided by experts in the field. The participants were exposed to techniques in designing handicrafts, marketing, and packaging.

A public exhibition of the artwork and products produced by the women during the workshops was held at Crowne Plaza Hotel Duqm. Through continuous engagement with various stakeholders, we are now delivering leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, and team building workshops for women in Duqm. These workshops are open to Members of the Omani Women Associations, Female students enrolled in high schools of Al Wusta region.

The workshops and their activities would encourage participants to be:

  • Active in civil society and take on responsible roles.
  • Try to make a difference in their own lives.
  • Reach out and collaborate with others in their own communities
